ET BEACON?

"Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. Particularly when you don't twinkle like a diamond in the sky at all, but spit out rare, huge and random flashes of radio waves."

Roger Highfield - Telegraph UK

One of the most stunning astronomical visualizations I've ever seen.

If you're into the work of
Dr Paul LaViolette, you may be able to see why he suggests that these pulsars and the newly-discovered neutron stars are beacons that are being used by ETs to send radio signals across the galaxy.

You can hear an interview with the good Doctor on the Laura Lee show

and another great one on Radio Orbit to find out more.

In fact, the Telegraph story goes on to say:

The first pulsar was discovered in 1967, by Jocelyn Bell and Antony Hewish of the University of Cambridge. Initially baffled as to the amazingly regular nature of its radio emissions, the pair dubbed their discovery LGM-1, for "little green men".
