NYD 2007 - Give It Up

Hello Friends,
You may have heard the rumblings about a new private party coming to town for NYD ’07.‘Give It Up’ will be the kind of friendly, intimate affair shared by our friends and friends-of-friends that we've become accustomed to, where we can still party in the old school ways.DJ Sveta is flying in from Sydney to be the headline act, I'm on from 4 - 7 pm, and Miss Eleni(Candy Bar), is up first. It's been awhile since I was part of an all-girl line-up so I'm expecting we're going to have a ton of fun flashing our tits at youand all that kind of stuff. Just kidding...I know too many homosexuals for that! But the music, people and atmospherewill be unreal. The promoters are well-connected and they have a budget for an extra-special production. Remember whenparty organizers used to DECORATE? It's coming back. Now, the venue is ON THE WATER. It's rather swanky inside too, with a great sound system and dancefloor, excellent chill out spaces and an outdoor area for cocktails and champagne in the sun. That last bit is V. Important as we all know, and hopefully we'll get some fabulous weather this year.

TIME: Midday 'til 10pm
VENUE: Fixx Jamm, at Waterfront City
Most of the ticket proceeds will be going into the event and a few treats and surprises on the day! Any profits will be donated to charity.

Ticket Outlet: $69 from Hares & Hyenas (135 Commercial road South Yarra, soon to be at 63 Johnston street, Fitzroy)
or online at www.hares-hyenas.com.au
I'd love to see you there. Love, Liz x

Comedy For the New Consciousness

This week on Otherware we're making some time for a bit of humour and to lovingly poke a bit of fun at ourselves when I get together with the brilliant Vanda Mikoloski. Vanda is a renowned stand-up comic and speaker whose passion is personal growth and development, and she is hilarious. Check out the short promo on her site or You Tube and you'll see what I mean.

Vanda's work is a delightful, irreverent romp down her twisted spiritual path. The concept "enlightenment" is fascinating to her. Vanda's stand-up comedy deals with the human predicament, inquiring into the nature of being a human being, the trap of it all and the absurdity of it all. She offers powerful spiritual distinctions in a ridiculously funny way that leave the audience empowered, inspired and transformed. We definitely need more people like Vanda in my opinion, so I do hope that you can tune in and hear what she's all about.
