Ascended Masters & Helena Blavatsky
Here's a photo that is a bit of a mystery...apparantly the Masters assembled here, materialized sometime in the early 20th Century, for a meeting with Madame Helena Blavatsky, author of The Secret Doctrine, and founder of The Theosphical Society.
That's not a photo Liz Dear. Hermann Schmiechen did do some paintings of the Masters back in 1884 under the direction of HPB. www.blavatskyarchives.com/hpbphotos12.htm
I talked to an elderly theosophist who had been around in the society for a very long time who assured me that there was an actual photo that was taken, or at least it is believed by many older theosophists to be so, and also a painting that was done. He had been quite familiar with both.

I disagree, The Masters appeared by precipitating their mayavirupa (illusionary body) body for the photograph.

was due to Blavatsky sending a mental image to be in the artists studio.
